I'm a librarian living near NYC, have had several poems and stories, as well nonfiction published in various ezines. I've finally broken through in print as my novel "Where Do the Children Play?" a story based on true events concerning the kidnapping and drowning of a young boy, was published by Black Rose Writing last October. They are also publishing my second novel, "In Elysian Fields," a love story between a baseball player and a poet, due out July 4 of this year.

  1. Bravo. Tom! I finished the book yesterday and enjoyed it immensely. Well constructed. I like that the main characters find true love and fulfillment in the end despite obstacles and troubled pasts with problems. Full of hope. I am not so knowledgeable about baseball, however, so please confirm my understanding, if it is correct: Luke Allen does not necessarily win the pennant, he strikes out at the end? But it is not important, because he has finally found true romantic love and is also proven to be well loved, has made a tremendous impact, as a ball player in his career?

    1. Thanks so much Judith, I’m very glad and honored that you enjoyed it. Yes, you stated the gist of it very well. While metaphorically he “struck out,” i.e. failed, technically he hit the ball as far as you could without getting a home run, only to have it taken away by an emerging young superstar. We must get together soon so I can sign it for you!
